Strathearn firework displays

Nov 2 2012

by Lynn Duke, Strathearn Herald

Strathearn’s night sky is set to explode with colour as communities commemorate Guy Fawkes Night.

On Saturday, Laggan Park will be the venue for Comrie’s firework display, organised by Comrie Primary School PTA.

The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with the rockets and Catherine wheels set for launch at 6.30pm.

This is a fundraising event and it is suggested that a donation of £2.50 per adult be made on the night. Children are free.

Teas, coffee, soft drinks, soup and snacks will be on sale.

Organisers have urged people not to take sparklers and said glo-sticks will be available to buy.

On Bonfire Night itself, Monday, November 5, Crieff Round Table will hold its event at the Market Park. The group has been responsible for the town’s fantastic displays for more than 20 years and works tirelessly to make each year better than the last.

Organisers will light the bonfire, complete with a Guy, at about 7.15pm, with the firework display set to go off with a bang at 7.30pm.

Donations to the Round Table can be made at the entrances on the night.
