There will be a procession around James Square starting at the Hill Street junction at 11.30pm before a prayer is said at 11.45pm and the countdown to 2013begins.
Revellers can then party on into the wee small hours or go first footing. Refreshments will be provided.
In Comrie, hundreds willenjoy an evening of entertainment which culminates in the ancient flambeaux festival.
Organisers are hoping for a good attendance at Hogmanay fancy dress events. First up is the children’s fancy dress competition at 6.30pm in the White Church. Open to under-16s, money prizes are on offer for the best costumes in individual, pairs and groupcategories. The competition will be followed by a fireworks display at the Boulevard from 7.15pm.
Later on, people will gather in Melville Square for the Flambeaux parade, which marches off after the bells.
Led by Comrie Pipe Band and followed by guisers in the adult fancy dress competition, the torch procession will make its way around the village before returning to the square for the prize-giving.
Prizes will be awarded forbest individual, duo and group costumes and floats.
