PERTH and Kinross Council has given answers about Crieff Common Good Fund.
Last week the Herald reported that Strathearn councillors were furious that a meeting of the town’s common good fund committee was not held with others at the council offices.
Common good fund committee meetings are scheduled each month.
However, a council spokesperson said: “As there was no business to be transacted for the Crieff Common Good at this time, in accordance with usual practice, no meeting of the committee has been called for this cycle of meetings.
“The council agreed at its first meeting on May 23, 2012, to continue with the existing decision-making structure until the end of the current calendar year but to undertake a review of that structure to report back to the council in December 2012.
“That review will include the future management and decision-making arrangements regarding common good funds.”
They continued: “The council is aware of certain concerns about common good in Crieff and so an informal meeting with the local members for Crieff was arranged to take place last week to allow these concerns to be discussed and pursued as appropriate.
“All councillors will be involved in the review of the decision-making structure and will have the opportunity to contribute to the debate on all aspects of the review, including common good issues.”
