Slimmers in Blairgowrie were celebrating recently after losing a combined 164 stone in seven months.
Since opening its doors in January this year, around 100 people have joined Rachel Stallard’s Slimming World class, which takes place on Wednesdays at Blairgowrie Bowling Club.
And it was announced recently that dedicated members had collectively shed the equivalent weight of a small car prior to the start of August.
Rachel now runs two classes to cope with demand for the weight-loss programme, which she claims allows people to “literally have their cake and eat it”.
Speaking to the Blairie, Rachel – who used the programme herself – said: “It is great to see people from all walks of life wanting to lose weight.
“We get people of all ages, shapes and sizes through the doors and lots of people say they have made friends here as well as losing weight.
“It is absolutely fantastic the progress everyone has made – I handed out seventeen awards last week for achieving various milestones such as losing three and four stones.
“And it is incredible to think that in just a few months, Blairgowrie residents have lost the weight of a small car!”
Rachel’s classes take at 5.30pm and 7.30pm each Wednesday at Blairgowrie Bowling Club, on Lochy Street.
