A GROUP of 5th Year pupils at Blairgowrie High completed a climb up Ben Nevis, braving cold and wet conditions as well as a few sore feet while on a fund-raising event in support of a pupil trip to Malawi next year.
The participants are raising funds for their own work experience in June 2010, but also to help Geisha Primary School in Mzuzu, which is in the north of Malawi. This is an on-going charitable project for the whole school.
Future fund-raising events include a raffle day at Tesco Blairgowrie, a Hallowe'en disco, a coffee morning in Alyth and a bingo tea at some point next year.
The group thank all of the businesses which have supported the cause so far.
Parents of P7 pupils at local primary schools are to be invited to visit Blairgowrie High on Wednesday, November 11, to find out what secondary school has in store for their children.
After a short talk from Rector Gordon Miller, parents will be given a tour of subject departments under the guidance of senior pupils, who will be able to answer any questions parents may have about the school.
Many departments will organise present S1 pupils to show parents some of the work carried out this session.
Letters of invitation will be sent via primary schools, but please contact Mrs Lynn Bryce on 01250 871200 if there are any queries.
