“I would particularly like to thank Helen Craig for all the work she put in to speaking to people and encouraging them to donate prizes.
“Although a number of prizes were received too late to be able to include them in the prize bingo this time, there are almost enough left over for us to run another bingo tea later in the year, which is great news. We are very grateful to everyone who gave them.”
He added: “A big ‘thank you’ must go also to Kate Rhoney who gave invaluable help in organising the event and her daughter Laura who, as caller, made sure the evening ran smoothly.
“And thanks also to all the committee members for all their help, and of course to everyone who supported the event on the night.
“We are now gearing up for the Relay For Life itself and would encourage people to register teams.”
The Relay for Life is a 24-hour event that takes place at the JJ Coupar Recreation Park. Up to 20 teams of eight to 15 people walk around a track, taking it in turns so that there is always someone walking at any one time. There is also fun entertainment and activities. This year’s Relay for Life will take place from midday on Saturday June 29 until midday on Sunday June 30.
To register, teams and individuals should visit www.blairgowrie-relay-for-life.org.uk. For more information contact Len on 07530 197 213.
