 Brad Pitt is reported to have called time on his marriage to Jennifer Aniston after one cigarette too many. The former Friends star's chain-smoking was claimed to be one of the reasons behind the Hollywood's golden couple's split last month.
Heart-throb Brad is just the latest celebrity to say that he's sick of cigarettes.
Madonna,Christina Aguilera and Westlife pin-up Nicky Byrne are all confirmed haters of smoking.
And a survey taken for tomorrow's No Smoking Day reveals that almost 80 per cent of Scots looking for a partner would choose to date a non-smoker.
The smell of stale smoke was the number one turn-off for those questioned, with 59 per cent saying it gets right up their nose. Socialising in a smoky environment annoys four out of every 10 people.
And if the health risks and irritation to your loved ones isn't enough to put you off fags, what about the damage they're doing to your looks that could cost you dates?
Almost a third of those surveyed (31 per cent) said they would be put off dating a smoker because of the physical signs of smoking, such as premature ageing, stained teeth and fingers and nicotine breath.
Research by the British Medical Association and anti-smoking group ASH found smoking increased impotency by 50 per cent for men in their thirties and forties. Around 120,000 UK men in this age group are needlessly impotent as a result of smoking.
'Not only will smoking seriously damage your health, it can seriously damage your love life too,' said Dr Bill O'Neill, BMA Scottish secretary.
'Consider how attractive stale tobacco smells on your breath, hair and clothes.'
'Kissing smoking goodbye increases your chances of being kissed and decreases your chances of kissing life goodbye prematurely.'
'Smoking can damage sperm and can cause impotence in young men. It reduces fertility for both men and women. What's attractive about that?'
'There is nothing romantic about smoking and the best gift you could give to your loved one is to take care of your heart and yourself by stopping smoking.'
